About the Role
A small, focused startup is looking for a Java Software Engineer who’s comfortable working across both backend development and DevOps. The team is experienced, collaborative, and values clean code, well-maintained infrastructure, and straightforward communication.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building solid backend systems and wants to be involved in how software is deployed, run, and maintained.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building and maintaining backend services using Java and Spring

• Working with REST APIs to integrate different systems

• Using Docker and Docker Compose to manage containerized services

• Managing PostgreSQL databases

• Using GitHub and Gitflow for version control and collaboration

• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and improving deployment workflows

• Writing automation scripts and supporting infrastructure-related tasks

What They’re Looking For
The team is looking for someone with a strong background in Java and Spring, who either has experience with DevOps or is genuinely interested in learning more. It’s a hands-on role with room to grow.

Requirements

• Java and Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Data, etc.)

• Experience with RESTful APIs

• Familiar with Docker & Docker Compose

• PostgreSQL experience

• Comfortable using GitHub and following Gitflow

• Interest in DevOps, CI/CD, and automation

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms

• Experience with Ubuntu Server (LTS versions)

• Jenkins experience

• General knowledge of cloud infrastructure
